At Strategic Group, we recognize that we have a long-term responsibility to our customers and our communities. From ensuring that we follow green guidelines when developing or re-developing our properties to giving back to the communities where we live and work, our Strategic initiatives are vitally important to the way we do business.

• Strategically Green

  

  We believe in providing healthy workplaces that embrace innovative environmental practices and energy efficiencies. Our Strategically Green initiative helps us identify building improvements, new technology, and social initiatives aimed at taking better care of our environment, the earth’s resources and each other.

  Putting Strategically Green into practice
  As part of Strategically Green we’ve implemented a number of green initiatives to help reduce our environmental impact.

  These include:

  Energy Reduction

  • We install occupancy sensors and timers in common areas such as stairwells and washrooms to switch lighting on and off.
  • Continuous monitoring and load-matching of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • We maximize daylight and window views in occupied spaces.
  • In-house office appliances are energy star compliant.

  
  Water Conservation

  • We install automatic- flush urinals and faucets in bathrooms throughout our portfolio.
  • New renovations feature senor-based low-flow fixtures.

  Environmental

  • We use touch-free foam soap and hand sanitization dispensers.
  • We provide bicycle racks, bike storage units, locker rooms and shower facilities to encourage employees to bicycle to work.
  • We promote green housekeeping programs and implement sustainable cleaning procedures to reduce the amount of hazardous solutions used in our buildings.
  • We prohibit smoking in all our buildings.

  Recycling

  • We set up dedicated recycling rooms for office and retail generated waste.
  • Toner cartridges are returned for recycling.
• Strategic Cares

  At Strategic Group, we are committed to good corporate citizenship and to giving back and improving our communities. Through our Strategic Cares initiative we support a number a charitable organizations and encourage our employees by matching their personal financial contributions.

  These kinds of corporate citizenship activities help instill the spirit of volunteerism in every Strategic Group employee, and they are an important opportunity for communication with local society.By building community partnerships with the aim of helping to create a vibrant society based on open cooperation, Strategic Group is also investing in its own business future.
