Strategic Group’s operations in Calgary began in 2001 with 13 properties. Today, we are one of the city’s largest private landlords and top redevelopers with more than 170 properties in our portfolio. Our strategy is to create long-term value through the insight of our experienced management team, effective leasing strategies, and capital investment in our assets.
Airdrie is located 25 minutes away from Calgary’s downtown core. A small town feel that continues to grow and thrive. We currently have three residential properties in Airdrie– Aqua, Aura, and Terra Townhomes.
Terra is our new townhome development, which is located right across from Aqua. Construction began in October 2016 and four more phases are in the planning stages.
As Alberta’s capital city, Edmonton enjoys a stable economy and long-term opportunities for growth. Located between one of the world’s largest oil reserves and the largest energy market, Edmonton is home to many thriving industries. Edmonton is a city where business succeeds.
We expanded Strategic Group operations to Edmonton in 2004 with the purchase of a property that offered the opportunity for vibrant redevelopment. In 2006, we opened our Edmonton branch office. Many of our Edmonton properties are neighbourhood retail spaces, providing key services to their surrounding communities.
In 2014 we expanded to Duncan on Vancouver Island, home to approximately 5,000 residents, and supporting the larger Cowichan Valley area population of 80,000. The acquisition of the Duncan Shopping Centre continues to evolve as the centre is repositioned and stabilized. The acquisition expanded Strategic Group’s operating footprint to Vancouver Island and boasts a strong mix of retail Tenants.
In early 2014 Strategic Group assumed ownership of 84 buildings with 1766 residential apartment units located in Saint John, NB, Halifax, Dartmouth, Kentville, Windsor, Glace Bay and Sydney, NS. Strategic Group is committed to providing the Atlantic Canada portfolio with clean, affordable, and safe housing for Tenants.
