The team at Strategic Group is proud to receive the award for ‘Retail/Mixed-use Development of the Year’ at the 2018 NAIOP Calgary REX Awards, held on November 21, 2018.
The Awards gala honours the achievements of the office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate industry in Calgary, Alberta. The criteria for consideration focused on areas such as quality and performance, teamwork, collaboration, innovation and creativity, and community and environmental awareness.
Strategic Group’s One6 building is celebrated for its innovative approach to mixed-use retail and residential on a unique location. Creative leasing strategies, efficient designs, roof top amenity deck and social lounge are why One6 is successful and—now—an award-winning building.
The site for One6 was a challenge mainly due to the land configuration, size, and access. Some unique features of One6 include only one level of underground parking thereby supporting residents and retailers with low parking requirements. The ‘micro apartment’ concept is also a feature of the building, which is designed to optimize space to create a comfortable living environment. With no balconies due to site limitations, a roof top patio was developed as an alternative, giving all residents a great gathering space where they can enjoy city and mountain views.
One6 includes 103 residential rental homes and retail tenants H&R Block, Prime Health Care, YYC Repairs, and Glo On Beauty Salon.
